Information about polar bears.

Polar bears spend more time floating on ice than walking on land. They're adept swimmers with large forepaws (30 cm or 1 foot) that are used as paddles to propel them through the water at a speed of 10 km an hour. They can swim for almost ten hours without a rest.  Polar bears can also dive to depths of 4.5 m (15 feet) in the water, staying submerged for two minutes.
